LEFOO LF17-W Heavy-Duty Water Pump Pressure Switch
Heavy-duty water-pump pressure switching in the LEFOO LF17-W family. The correct operating range, contact wiring and hydraulic or pneumatic installation depend on the ordered variant.
Model Identification & Key Specifications
Manufacturer Technical Data
Unlike air-compressor LF17, LF17-W is maker-specified for WATER. Published 40–250psi with 80–100psi factory and 20–60psi differential; alternate 14–100psi/40–70psi and LF17-W5 15–60psi/30–45psi ranges. Original 2007 CSA document includes LF17-W but states 250psi max and component-use evaluation; do not transfer that approval to every suffix or a complete water system.
AirAlign Engineering & Selection Analysis
Unlike the air-compressor LF17, LF17-W is documented for water service. The maker’s old CSA component record for LF17-W is limited to 250 psi, and does not automatically certify the rest of a water pressure booster system.
Correct system operation is determined by the restart threshold, stop threshold, motor electrical duty and the available pressure supply. An adjustment range does not imply every combination is approved: compare manufacturer-specified differential, pressure proof, operating medium and fitting. For motor-driven equipment, locked-rotor conditions, overload protection and cycling frequency are separately important even where a contact-current rating is published.
Installation, Compatibility & Protection
Specify both cut-in and cut-out conditions for the intended equipment, and verify the manufacturer’s permitted hysteresis. Do not use proof or burst pressures as running thresholds.
NO and NC contacts have different protection and restart behavior. Match the wiring schedule and motor/contactor duty, rather than relying only on voltage and ampere numbers.
Verify actual air versus water compatibility, wetted materials, connection thread standard, sealing method and temperature of the process. The manufacturer variant must support the full application.
A maker-hosted CE, TÜV, UL or CSA record may cover only stated models and revisions. It is not equivalent to proof of ATEX/IECEx approval or a finished installation certificate.
LF17-W Water-Pump Variants vs Compressor LF17
LF17-W is explicitly presented by LEFOO for water pump service. It shares a family identifier with heavy-duty compressor LF17 but uses distinct reference factory settings and pressure classes. Before substitution, confirm wetted compatibility, ordered suffix, thread and motor duty.
| Water-pump variant | Operating class | Representative factory cut-in / cut-out |
|---|---|---|
| LF17-W higher-range class | 40–250 psi | 80 / 100 psi |
| LF17-W alternate class | 14–100 psi | 40 / 70 psi |
| LF17-W5 | 15–60 psi | 30 / 45 psi |

LF17-W — heavy-duty pump motor coordination
LF17-W is the water-pump member of the LF17 family, and its mechanical pressure envelope should be matched to tank/piping limits and pump horsepower. A heavy-duty label does not eliminate motor inrush or overload requirements; use an appropriate contactor if necessary. Check pump pressure differential, water-facing seals and terminal protection. Compare with LF17 compressor models carefully because their unloader arrangements and process media may differ.
