CO₂ Ventilation Calculator
Estimate outdoor ventilation from people, CO₂ generation and target CO₂ concentration.
Results
Example: steady-state CO₂
For five occupants each producing 0.3 L/min of CO₂, outdoor air at 420 ppm and an indoor target of 1,000 ppm, the simple well-mixed model estimates 43.1 L/s of outdoor air (about 155.2 m³/h). Real spaces may not reach steady state, and a CO₂ target alone is not proof of adequate ventilation.

Formula and limitations
Steady-state well-mixed model: Q (L/s) = occupants × generation (L/min/person) × 1,000,000 / [60 × (indoor − outdoor ppm)]. Generation default is an adjustable assumption for sedentary adults; not a ventilation compliance calculator.
