Programmable pressure transmitter for 100 mbar to 1,000 bar, 4–20 mA; factory/manufacturer configuration for selectable nominal range and ±0.25% or ±0.10% FS accuracy options. Ordinary PTM is not equivalent to the separately certified PTM/Ex family.

Order-code and hazardous-area check: Exact pressure span, materials, connector and electrical output depend on the ordered version. Do not treat standard and /Ex model suffixes or certification annexes as interchangeable.

PTM — programmable pressure instrumentation

Configurable range versus installed range: The family covers many nominal spans, and programmable 4–20 mA scaling must be documented for the particular installed transmitter. Determine lower/upper range values, engineering units and controller alarm thresholds as part of commissioning; the whole 100 mbar–1,000 bar manufacturer range is not the span of one instrument.

Electrical and pressure boundary: Check two-wire loop supply and burden where relevant, compatible process fitting, material, overload exposure and required accuracy at the target span. The listed 0.25%/0.10% FS options should be matched to the chosen sensor and factory calibration.

Certification: PTM/Ex is a separate order family. Do not transfer its hazardous-area approvals to a standard PTM, even when the housing looks similar.

Selection pointModel-specific evidence
Nominal cell families100 mbar–1000 bar; these are different ordered ranges.
AdjustmentMaker specifies 1:4 nominal-range adjustment, within −5% to +105%.
Static accuracy≤±0.25% or ±0.10% FS.
TemperatureElectronics −25…85°C; process −40…150°C.
Signal/materials4–20 mA; stainless steel or titanium.

Record both the physical cell range and programmed 4 mA/20 mA endpoints. A quarter-span setting increases the relative effect of a fixed absolute error; do not assume original full-scale accuracy becomes the same percentage of the reduced span. Verify receiver scaling after programming and keep pressure overload limits tied to the hardware, not the displayed range.
