EF-x2000-T — remote LCD and thermal dispersion

The EF-x2000-T is positioned as a small-duct thermal-dispersion system with a remote-display transmitter. Separation of sensor and display can improve service access, but the remote cable routing and sensor installation must match the specific EBTRON dimensions. Compare its output channel options and sensor configuration to x1000 rather than assuming they share the same connector and duct fit. A displayed flow value should be verified at commissioning with an appropriate duct-area and reference airflow method.

The details below are specific model or order-family properties taken from the original equipment maker. For each installed unit, suffix, test conditions and revised documentation govern.

AttributeManufacturer dataEngineering significance
Sensing technologyBead-in-glass thermistor thermal dispersion, one probe with 1 or 2 nodesDuct-average flow estimate depends on maker-prescribed probe placement.
Round duct sizes4–16 inches (102–406 mm)Ordered probe length must match round-duct diameter.
Measurement and accuracy0–3,000 FPM calibrated range; ±3% of reading installed airflow accuracy under documented conditionsDo not apply percentage-of-reading accuracy outside approved installation geometry.
Temperature measurementVelocity-weighted temperature; manufacturer states ±0.08 °C under calibration conditionsDistinct from a general RH measurement or simple room thermostat.
Remote transmitterLCD with four buttons; standard sensor-to-transmitter cable options 3, 10, 25 and 50 ftDesign for physical accessibility, cable bend routing and plenum requirements.
Power24 VAC at 8 VA (source R1C)Plan local transformer’s loading and field voltage drop.
Interface codeEF-A2000: field-selectable 0–5/1–5/0–10/2–10 V analog; EF-N2000: BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU RS485This model does not inherently provide a 4–20 mA loop output.
AlarmDry-contact high/low flow or system-status relay availableDo not wire output without confirming normal-open/normal-closed setup and fail-safe action.

Engineering selection and installation

Unlike the x1000 integral transmitter, the EF-x2000-T uses a remote display and includes a programmable airflow/status relay. EBTRON describes 24 VAC remote transmitters and selectable analog versus digital BAS interfaces, which are physically different order codes. A four-wire current receiver may sometimes be driven using a correctly chosen voltage output with ≥250 Ω burden, but this is not a native loop-powered 4–20 mA transmitter. Select the probe’s environment-rated cable, local power and BAS data units (actual CFM vs standard SCFM), and commission at the selected duct geometry and alarm threshold.
