ZE03-SO₂ — sulfur dioxide sensor lifetime
ZE03-SO₂ is the sulfur-dioxide electrochemical member of Winsen’s ZE03 platform. Its listed nominal 0–20 ppm range must be paired with SO₂-specific sensitivity, background-gas cross-response and acceptable humidity exposure. A building or industrial monitor needs host error reporting and maintenance scheduling; response deterioration should not be interpreted as permanently clean air. Check the manufacturer manual for the specific data scaling and current sensor-replacement interval before commissioning.
ZE03-SO₂ — sulfur dioxide ppm detection, analog slope and UART — gas-specific selection
The Winsen ZE03 electronics are a shared platform, but the Sulfur dioxide (SO₂) electrochemical cell, calibrated units, interfering gases and analog voltage direction are model-specific.
| Specification | Manufacturer evidence | Integration concern |
|---|---|---|
| Target | SO₂ sensor in ZE03 three-electrode electrochemical platform | A SO₂ cell is not a standard calibrated H₂S cartridge. |
| Concentration span | 0–20 ppm per original ZE03 gas matrix | Do not quote higher biogas H₂S spans as sulfur dioxide range. |
| Response dynamics | ≤30 s under manufacturer reference matrix | Sensor element aging and gas line retention may slow installed system. |
| Amplified analog output | Maker matrix gives increasing approximately 0.6–3 V signal on SO₂ gas variant | Unlike O₃/Cl₂ variants that use falling voltage. |
| Supply / communication | 5 ±0.1 V DC; <5mA; 3 V TTL UART plus analog voltage | Use correct decimal precision and firmware frame for SO₂. |
| Operating conditions | −20 to +50 °C, 15–90%RH noncondensing; nominal 2-year design life | Humidity and gas solubility require appropriate sampling and maintenance. |
Commissioning, cross sensitivity and safety
Sulfur dioxide in stack-adjacent or chemical workspaces may coexist with NO₂, ozone or hydrogen sulfide, which can interfere with electrochemical interpretation. The manufacturer publishes SO₂ amplifier output as an increasing voltage over its gas-specific range, but the exact start/end values and polarity should be confirmed in the shipped calibration document. Use a suitable nonreactive sampling path and validate 4–20mA conversion only if an independent transmitter electronics module is present. Final emergency alarm compliance belongs to the finished detector.
