Posifa PGS6032-R / PGS6454-R A2L Refrigerant Sensors

Posifa PGS6454 A2L leak detection module, manufacturer's own product photograph
The PGS6454 model as pictured in Posifa’s own manufacturer product announcement. PGS6032-R and other ordering variants may differ.

Configurable A2L refrigerant measurement variants with manufacturer user manuals.

Manufacturer: Posifa Technologies.

Component suitability: OEM components are not certified hazardous-area systems by default. A2L leak detection requires the finished system to meet all applicable safety requirements; do not infer Ex-proof approval.

Manufacturer Model & Approval Verification

Original manufacturer approval โ€” PGS6032-R and PGS6454-R: Posifa reports UL Solutions recognition of the two A2L refrigerant detection components against UL 60335-2-40:2022 (4th ed.), Annex LL. This is refrigerant-leak sensor/component recognition for specified HVAC systems, not a universal ATEX/IECEx Ex-proof certificate. Check the UL recognition scope and final assembled appliance requirements.

PGS6032-R versus PGS6454-R refrigerant

PGS6032-R and PGS6454-R are distinct A2L-refrigerant sensor variants; the manufacturer photograph specifically depicts a PGS6454 example. Confirm targeted refrigerant(s), leak threshold, response, supply and host signaling for the exact code. A2L measurement is not a universal flammable-gas calibration, and compliant HVAC safety shutdown behavior belongs to the finished detector/controller assembly under the relevant standard.

Recognized typesPGS6032-R and PGS6454-R are the specifically named UL-recognized models under the manufacturer’s 2025 statementThe recognized scope is the refrigerant detection system sensor requirements in UL 60335-2-40:2022 4th edition, Annex LL; no unrelated zone approval inferred.
RefrigerantsPGS6000 OEM family targets A2L R32 / R454B in airVerify factory programmed target gas. Percent LFL is refrigerant-specific; ppm, volume % and NLFL registers cannot be interchanged.
Sensing and compensationPhysical MEMS thermal conductivity with RH and barometric compensation, chip response below 250 msA real detector assembly with enclosure/flow path and controls has separate end-to-end T90 response.
Digital controllerRS485 Modbus RTU supported by the family; OEM evaluation software shows alarm, error, concentration and lifetime register conceptsDo not copy a default slave address or threshold from another firmware release without the exact model and revision manual.

Qualification notes

The page’s photograph depicts PGS6454 only; do not relabel it as a PGS6032-R image. The UL recognition is not blanket certification of the finished HVAC refrigerant leak detection and mitigation system. Ex/IECEx approvals are not implied.
