Isolated piezoresistive measuring cell supplied as an OEM element. The current STS all-products catalog lists nominal pressure ranges 100 mbar to 1000 bar, accuracy options ≤±0.50/0.25% FS, mV output and stainless steel/titanium/Hastelloy materials. Temperature compensation may be resistor-based. This is a sensor component, not an independently certified hazardous-area instrument.

TD measuring cell versus complete transmitter

STS TD is an OEM piezoresistive pressure cell providing a millivolt signal. Its 100 mbar–1,000 bar portfolio describes available sensing-element options, not the output of a single scalable transmitter. An integrator must provide suitable excitation, amplifier/ADC, temperature compensation, sealed mounting and electrical/environmental protection. The wetted alloy/diaphragm material choice affects corrosion and repeatability, and the receiving electronics determine actual 4–20 mA or digital behavior if such output is required downstream. A measuring cell is not automatically an approved finished pressure transmitter or an Ex instrument merely because another STS product carries certification.

Selection pointModel-specific evidence
Nominal ranges2019 sheet: 0.1–1000 bar portfolio; 50 mbar on request.
Accuracy varies by rangeLow range ≤±0.5% FS; selected ranges offer ±0.25%; >600 bar table lists ±1% or ±0.5% FS.
Excitation with compensationTypical/max: 10/15 VDC or 1/2 mA; typical bridge resistance 3 kΩ.
Signal examplesAt 1 mA, uncompensated: nominal 0.1 bar →25 mV; 1 bar →65 mV; ≥6 bar →100 mV.
Construction316L or titanium; Hastelloy C-276 on request.

The output examples are not universal sensitivity constants. Follow the individual measuring protocol for compensation resistors and calibrate the complete amplifier/ADC chain. Bridge excitation noise and self-heating become part of the system error. The cell needs mechanical integration and protection; it cannot directly replace a two-wire current-loop transmitter.
