Wireless H₂S monitoring and threshold notifications for industrial environments.

Manufacturer: Monnit Corporation

Safety: Wireless alerting and remote sensing are not proof that this configuration is intrinsically safe or ATEX/IECEx certified. Verify suitability before use in explosive atmospheres.

Wireless range, power source, frequency region, gateways and calibration options vary by exact part number.

Manufacturer SKU and safety check

Example US 900 MHz standard AA housing part MNS2-9-W2-GS-H2S. Wireless H₂S gas sensing alone does not prove a Zone 0/1/2 installation approval; check approval and use limitations for each exact order code.

ALTA H2S wireless alarm scope

Wireless H₂S reporting depends on gas-sensing calibration and radio-network availability. Confirm the region-compatible frequency, gateway, battery chemistry, enclosure option and notification-delay behavior of the exact Monnit order code. An industrial remote alert is not automatically a certified personal H₂S detector or SIL safety system. Check fail-offline behavior, exposure alarms, device maintenance and suitability for a hazardous area independently.

ALTA H₂S — wireless ppm alarms, hazardous-gas exposure and remote alert limits

ParameterManufacturer factSelection/QA significance
Measured gasHydrogen sulfide H₂S, a toxic and flammable process gas; sensed concentration displayed in ppmNot a CO, methane, sulphur dioxide or particulate matter sensor. Exact calibrated range must come from this sensor’s order-specific data sheet.
Wireless architectureALTA device with AA battery option, local transmitter and iMonnit cloud notificationsGateway and radio availability, message heartbeat and alarm routing are independent of the gas element.
OEM ordering exampleMonnit lists MNS2-9-W2-GS-H2S for 900 MHz AA commercial modelDifferent regional ALTA RF bands and enclosure/line-power variants carry different order numbers.
Alarm engineeringManufacturer advertises programmable ppm thresholds triggering text, email or callBump testing, cross-sensitivity, exposure limits and local fail-safe alert require documented system design. No general Ex installation claim.
MaintenanceGas sensor service, battery/wireless health and reception require commissioning and inspectionsA remote notification product should not be the sole life-safety solution without an independently approved detector and emergency plan.

Radio, calibration and safety boundary

Check exact radio region, gateway compatibility, the delivered maker part number, firmware and calibration revision. A radio/cloud alert is not an independently certified hazardous-area instrument or hardwired emergency alarm, unless the exact installed system and approval evidence explicitly demonstrate it.
