Infineon Technologies PASCO2V15
Legacy XENSIV™ PAS CO₂ 5 V photoacoustic spectroscopy sensor.
Key Specifications
How Photoacoustic CO₂ Sensing Works
The sensor modulates infrared light near a CO₂ absorption wavelength. When the gas absorbs the light, periodic heating creates a small pressure or acoustic signal. An acoustic detector measures the signal and the device’s electronics estimate carbon dioxide concentration, applying compensation and calibration as specified by the manufacturer.
Integration Considerations
Verify measurement conditions, automatic baseline correction requirements, installation environment, power peaks, bus communications, humidity and pressure effects, and manufacturer lifecycle status before product selection. Accuracy ranges should not be confused with digital reporting or output ranges.

Infineon PASCO2V15 — discontinued 5 V-emitter PAS CO₂ — model-specific datasheet review
These original manufacturer specifications are bounded to their stated measurement conditions. Output coding, calibrated precision, voltage domains, firmware and lifecycle status are not universal across variants.
| Property | Official model specification | Engineering limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Product lifecycle | Official Infineon status discontinued / end of life for PASCO2V15AUMA1 | Not suitable for fresh system design without an active replacement selection. |
| CO₂ technology | Photoacoustic spectroscopy with MEMS microphone | Direct CO₂ ppm readout, not estimated eCO₂ from VOC. |
| Specified accuracy band | 400–3,000 ppm, ±(50 ppm + 5% of reading) | Worse rated accuracy than PASCO2V01’s historical 400–5,000 ppm band. |
| Output envelope | 0–32,000 ppm digital readout | Do not call this the manufacturer’s full calibrated accuracy interval. |
| Nominal supply design | 5 V emitter with separate digital-side supply management; official family listing 3.3–5 V | Never wire PASCO2V15 to the V01’s 12 V emitter connection. |
| Interfaces | I²C, UART, PWM | Firmware readout and timing must match actual variant. |
| Response | ~55 s per manufacturer catalog | Faster nominal response than legacy PASCO2V01 (90 s), still enclosure-dependent. |
| Operating environment / package | 0…+50 °C; 13.8 × 14 × 7.5 mm | Mechanical similarities cannot prove pin-compatibility. |
| Vendor ordering | PASCO2V15AUMA1 now discontinued | Repair availability does not equal active OEM production. |
Selection, calibration and application
Infineon’s original source calls PASCO2V15 the 5 V version; it is a historical product and currently discontinued. The 400–3,000 ppm accuracy band and 55 s reference response differ from PASCO2V01 despite common PAS family naming. Do not transfer the 12 V emitter design, ±(30 ppm +3%) figure or response value from PASCO2V01. Selection for new HVAC or IoT designs requires a currently supported Infineon alternative and complete electrical/firmware migration check. Retain pressure compensation, clean-air baseline offset calibration assumptions and appropriate air exposure when maintaining installed boards.
