Infineon Technologies PASCO2V01
Legacy XENSIV™ PAS CO₂ 12 V photoacoustic spectroscopy sensor.
Key Specifications
How Photoacoustic CO₂ Sensing Works
The sensor modulates infrared light near a CO₂ absorption wavelength. When the gas absorbs the light, periodic heating creates a small pressure or acoustic signal. An acoustic detector measures the signal and the device’s electronics estimate carbon dioxide concentration, applying compensation and calibration as specified by the manufacturer.
Integration Considerations
Verify measurement conditions, automatic baseline correction requirements, installation environment, power peaks, bus communications, humidity and pressure effects, and manufacturer lifecycle status before product selection. Accuracy ranges should not be confused with digital reporting or output ranges.
Official Manufacturer Source
Product information and lifecycle status should be checked against the current manufacturer listing.

Infineon PASCO2V01 — discontinued 12 V-emitter PAS CO₂ — model-specific datasheet review
These original manufacturer specifications are bounded to their stated measurement conditions. Output coding, calibrated precision, voltage domains, firmware and lifecycle status are not universal across variants.
| Property | Official model specification | Engineering limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Procurement lifecycle | Infineon current product page explicitly states END OF LIFE / discontinued | This is a legacy reference: do not recommend for new production without manufacturer-authorized alternative review. |
| CO₂ sensing principle | Photoacoustic spectroscopy with a MEMS acoustic receiver and integrated ppm conversion | Unlike electrochemical CO or a generic VOC-equivalent CO₂ proxy. |
| Specified accuracy | ±(30 ppm + 3% of reading) over 400–5,000 ppm | At 1,000 ppm nominal tolerance ~±60 ppm; not certified across digital max. |
| Digital reportable interval | 0–32,000 ppm | Full readout range must not be equated with calibrated 400–5,000 ppm band. |
| Supply architecture | 3.3 V logic domain plus 12 V-class infrared source; vendor lists 3.3–12 V family range | The IR emitter power budget is not identical to PASCO2V15’s 5 V emitter. |
| Interfaces | I²C, UART and PWM | Choose one host interface, signal level and firmware initialization path. |
| Dynamic / environment | Response ~90 s; 0…+50 °C; 14 × 13.8 × 7.5 mm | Enclosure circulation and acoustic chamber delays determine useful control response. |
| Current production status | OPN PASCO2V01AUMA3 discontinued | Confirm replacement footprint and voltage before board redesign. |
Selection, calibration and application
Critical lifecycle correction: Infineon marks PASCO2V01 END OF LIFE. Do not imply active supply or make generic ‘BUY’ claims based on an old distributor inventory screen. Infineon markets it as 12 V photoacoustic CO₂ with 3.3 V digital rails and PAS compensation firmware. Its ±30 ppm +3% claim only applies to the original 400–5,000 ppm band; a 32,000 ppm digital status is not laboratory precision. During legacy repair inspect any separate emitter supply, I²C/UART/PWM mode and clean-air-based offset correction. Unlike the Infineon 5 V emitter PASCO2V15, the electrical architecture is not interchangeable.
