ELT D-400 — dual-optical-reference NDIR for continuous occupation — engineering selection and model documentation
The published manufacturer values below are bounded to their orderable range, test conditions and actual interface, not general guarantees about every relative in the same sensor family.
| Parameter | Manufacturer evidence | Engineering boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Gas architecture | Dual optical/sensor-channel NDIR measurement for CO₂ | Intended to address long-term emitter/ambient effects differently from single-beam CO₂. |
| Ranges | 0–2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 ppm factory-configured module choices | Do not copy the T-110/S-300 50kppm optional range to this device. |
| Catalogued accuracy | ±(30 ppm +3% of reading) model class | Evaluate test reference and drift to set HVAC control threshold. |
| Package | 69 × 50 × 23 mm | Substantially larger than S-300, requires different board/air passage. |
| Output connectivity | Manufacturer catalogue lists UART/I²C and analog options according to variant | Confirm electrical rail, PWM and alarms from an exact D-400 datasheet. |
| Reference integrity | Dual-channel optics can support stable readings when outdoor CO₂ baseline is infrequent | Reference channels do not replace verification after installation. |
| Use selection | Higher stability HVAC/process applications with permanent occupancy | The module cannot directly prove the building meets ventilation standards. |
System integration and calibration
The key difference from ELT’s T-110/S-300 is the D-400’s dual-channel optical design and larger assembly. This is relevant to facilities which remain occupied around the clock or contain intentional CO₂ enrichment, where some automatic low-baseline assumptions are unrealistic. Nevertheless, apply current factory calibration, appropriate gas/pressure reference and manual periodic check. A larger optical enclosure should have unobstructed flow and be protected from condensation; do not derive physical installed T90 solely from bus measurement speed.
