Product Positioning

The Platinum CO₂ platform is an OEM gas-sensing family rather than a room monitor. It spans IAQ/HVAC through industrial and high-concentration CO₂ measurement depending on the selected order code.

Manufacturer source data are specific to the selected sensor physics, ordered range and application conditions. Factory product family options do not all apply to a single device.

SpecificationOriginal maker evidenceIntegration/selection qualification
Detector principleNDIR optical CO₂ platform with self-contained temperature-compensated linearized output and onboard firmwareUnlike a bare pyroelectric cell, controller integration receives processed measurement signal.
Wide concentration portfolioFactory low-range 500–10,000ppm and percent-volume CO₂ through 100%volA low-range 500ppm reference module cannot be specified as 100%-vol without another SKU.
Available power choicesManufacturer product listing identifies multiple standard/low-power versions; existing product catalogue 420/240/45/24mW variantsUse actual voltage and part-builder selection rather than assigning a chosen 24mW rating to every Platinum sensor.
Host data choicesDigital Modbus RTU and analog/pellistor-replacement output familiesThe correct interface depends on output-type option and must match detector head wiring.
Hazardous-location certification optionsIndustrial Ex d, mining M1, UL and non-certified product classesAn uncoded sample article is not automatically Ex d or suitable for mining.
Safety software choicesEN50271/SIL1 certified software versions listed as optionsA certified software component does not prove an entire sensor/controller chain reaches SIL1.

Design, gas calibration and safety boundaries

Dynament makes multiple Platinum sensor variants for industrial gas panels, HVAC and process gas. Select first by CO₂ gas span in ppm or volume percent, then by power, PCB output protocol and Ex/environmental certificate. For example, low-power and intrinsically safe/hazardous-area versions can use different current and entity limits even with identical optics. A ‘pellistor replacement’ output adapts the host sensor interface but does not imply a catalytic chemistry or methane calibration. Validate gas calibration and reference, firmware configuration, fault signalling and current certificates with the Dynament part-builder.
