Exact chip package, optical filter, field of view and temperature range require the manufacturer’s current part-number datasheet.
HTS A-HT high-temperature detector environment
A high-temperature thermopile may withstand an operating condition unavailable to the standard HTS A, but exact upper temperature, package and optical filter must be checked by HTS A-HT suffix. The detector still needs an infrared source, optical cell and measurement algorithm for CO₂ NDIR use. Do not apply the standard HTS A pictured product’s mechanical design or performance to an unconfirmed high-temperature order configuration.
HTS A-HT: 180°C detector versus optional gas-specific filter
| Option / criterion | Original maker technical detail | Design implication |
|---|---|---|
| High-temperature sensor platform | TO-39, rated −20…+180°C operating, −40…+180°C storage | Do not substitute the ordinary HTS A’s +120°C operating limit. |
| Available listed detector chips | HTS A10 and A14 0.61² mm², HTS A20 1.2² mm² | Different sensitivity and electrical-noise design may alter minimum NDIR absorption signal. |
| Signal and time constant | A10/A14 58 V/W, <5 ms; A20 44 V/W, 10 ms | Not calibrated CO₂ ppm or complete gas-cell response. |
| Filter selection | Standard version supplied with F8-14 optical bandpass for temperature sensing; CO₂-specific variant on request | The stock HTS A-HT module is not automatically CO₂ selective; verify ordered filter CWL/HPBW. |
| Temperature reference | Pt1000 specifically listed on HTS A14; other rows show no Pt1000 | Do not assume an internal thermistor or Pt1000 is present on every A-HT suffix. |
Selection, integration and qualification
For a high-temperature exhaust or process gas design, ensure that optics, source, housing, electrical interconnect and any process-seal components also tolerate the actual environment. A 180°C detector chip alone cannot make the complete NDIR assembly a 180°C calibrated CO₂ transmitter or Ex-certified gas detector.
