Huba Control Type 200 Vortex Flow Sensor — R290-Ready Variants

Huba Control type 200 manufacturer product sample
Official Huba Control Type 200 R290 Ready pictured variant, not all Type 200 configurations.

Kármán vortex principle liquid flow sensor without moving parts for heat pumps, hydronic circuits, water systems and process monitoring. Type 200 offers an optional PT1000 or NTC temperature channel.

Manufacturer model specifications

Manufacturer flow coverage 0.5–150 l/min across nominal diameters DN6–DN25. Lower-half water-flow accuracy <1% FS, upper-half accuracy <2% of reading (manufacturer-defined operating conditions). Temperature measuring range −40 to +125°C when supported by variant.

Certification and model-variant restrictions

A pictured Type 200 R290 Ready variant carries a VDE Mark approval under EN IEC 60335-2-40 for specified heat-pump propane applications. This is NOT proof that every Type 200 order code is approved for R290 and is NOT itself an ATEX or IECEx Ex equipment certificate. Confirm current VDE certificate and exact sensor variant.

Huba Type 200 — R290-ready versus Ex certification

Huba Type 200 is a liquid vortex sensor available in specific manufacturer R290-ready heat-pump configurations. A VDE mark referring to EN IEC 60335-2-40 on the shown variant is relevant to the applicable appliance standard, but not proof of an ATEX/IECEx approval on every Type 200 suffix. Choose DN6–DN25 flow range, optional PT1000/NTC element, process media compatibility and actual output format. Verify the documented refrigerant application and full appliance safety design separately.

Huba Type 200 — 5 V vortex frequency output and pressure safety limits

Model characteristicOEM numeric / variant detailsSelection and safety interpretation
Nominal diameter and liquid flowDN 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25; 0.5–150 L/min total offered family spanChoose hydraulic diameter and order suffix; the nominal 150 L/min does not apply to a DN6 part.
Measurement principle and accuracyPassive Kármán vortex count with no moving mechanical rotor; <1% FS at below 50% FS, <2% reading above 50% FS, repeatability ±0.5%Flow error switches from full-scale reference to reading-based; sensor cannot measure gaseous R290 mass flow by inference.
Signal and power5 VDC ±5%; frequency square-wave flow signal near 0–5 V; <6 mA standard or <10 mA increased noise immunityA PLC/MCU frequency counter and variant-specific pulses-per-litre conversion are needed. Not a standard 4–20mA transmitter.
Temperature and environmental variantsOptional PT1000 Class B or NTC10k, measurement −40…+125°C; medium −15…+125°C nonfreezing, IP20/IP65 by connectorConfirm sensor output to media temperature, connector sealing and any need to isolate an external supply.
Hydraulic pressure restrictionsUp to 7 bar operating system pressure for medium up to 90°C; 18 bar test at 40°C; recommended minimum 1 barTest pressure does not mean 18 bar continuous. Check cavitation: maker guideline absolute outlet pressure / pressure difference >5.5.
R290-related approvalHuba labels qualified Type 200 variants R290 Ready and VDE marked under EN IEC 60335-2-40This supports a specified heat-pump equipment application; it does not prove that all versions carry ATEX/IECEx explosive-gas installation certificates.

Engineering and approval boundary

Wetted Type 200 materials include ETFE detector paddle, glass-fibre PA6T/6I and EPDM/FKM seals. For propane heat pumps, confirm the actual liquid-loop medium and VDE approval annex, rather than assuming the flow element senses refrigerant gas. A pressure-limited water/glycol product remains distinct from Huba’s metal Type 230.
