Confirm pressure control versus safety-cutout role, manual reset versus automatic reset, rated pressure/temperature and actual refrigerant or steam medium. Select the correct process port, contacts, mounting enclosure and electrical locked-rotor rating for the compressor or pump. Each LF56 pressure band has its own diaphragm maximum: 170, 590, 1550 and 2410 kPa respectively. Do not apply the largest diaphragm limit to a low-range controller. Original maker excludes chlorine-containing liquids and requires the media not to freeze.

Before using the switch as a protective device, verify how it responds at trip, reset and loss of supply, and whether a separate calibrated monitor is required. The contact wiring, allowable media and operating temperature must correspond to the original controller design. Select a documented variant instead of assuming that similarly named housings are interchangeable.

LF56 is a boiler-steam pressure controller. Process steam temperature, condensate impulse-line handling and approved diaphragm material must be evaluated as well as pressure setpoint and proof rating. Electrical contact control of normal firing is not equivalent to a legally required independent high-pressure limit or relief valve. Verify reset behavior and current certificate/standard of the actual boiler installation before using LF56 in a safety chain.
