Important: Operating, proof and burst are not interchangeable limits. A published pressure class does not give every connector, material and switchpoint variant the same rating.

Verified Manufacturer Technical Notes

10–400 psi factory-set range; maximum operating 500 psi, proof 2000 psi and burst 4000 psi are not interchangeable ratings. OEM standard polyimide diaphragm is explicitly unsuitable for water despite catalog medium list: specify a suitable optional diaphragm with maker. Resistive 15A at 6VDC versus inductive 1A at 120VAC must not be conflated.

Choose the pressure switchpoint and reset differential for the actual operating cycle; confirm compatible wetted materials, connection, pressure direction, electrical contact topology, working ambient and ingress protection with the exact order code. Check actual connection, contact rating and available manufacturer conformity documents for the selected model.

Engineering Selection — AirAlign Analysis

The OEM identifies the standard polyimide diaphragm as unsuitable for water. Do not infer liquid service from a generic media list; confirm the alternate wetted diaphragm and exact suffix. Proof and burst pressure ratings describe structural tests, not usable switchpoint settings.

For a control loop, choose the actual trip and reset behavior first. A mechanical contact can provide alarm, protection or run/stop control but does not output a continuously calibrated measurement. Check any fail-safe state, wiring to the final load, switching cycle frequency, differential setting and the process connection before replacing a physically similar part.

Installation, Wiring and Media Compatibility

Electrical interface

Check normally-open/closed wiring, the contact’s inductive versus resistive load, switching duty and whether the output is a low-current signal or suitable for direct equipment control.

Pressure boundaries

Choose the manufacturer-defined switchpoint and reset hysteresis, and verify the maximum admissible steady-state pressure separately from any short-duration proof or burst figure.

Wetted materials and fittings

Confirm gas/liquid approval, diaphragm compatibility, port size, connection thread and physical mounting orientation against the exact order code. Some products are intended only for non-hazardous gases.

Environmental and certification scope

IP grade and electrical approvals vary with connector and enclosure. Check the actual model suffix and connector or enclosure variant against the applicable manufacturer certificates.

LF20-H — operating versus proof pressure

LF20-H is the higher-pressure member of a mechanical switch range. A setpoint may be lower than the proof or burst pressure; these must not be mistaken for the same rating. Compare port sealing, media compatibility and switch contact load to the machine pressure envelope, including transients. A generic LF20 low-pressure replacement might not have the appropriate diaphragm or pressure proof rating.
