Engineering and Compatibility

Verify model suffix, regional regulatory approval, supported communications, application licensing, power supply, I/O combinations and commissioning software against the original technical manual. Specific installation design should be performed by a qualified controls integrator.

The presence of BACnet, Modbus or other protocol support at product-family level does not guarantee it is enabled on every ordering code or firmware revision.

Optimizer Advanced — plant and integration controller architecture

Manufacturer-verified selection information: Honeywell’s Optimizer Advanced family is a Niagara-based freely programmable building controller powered by an i.MX8 64-bit quad-core processor. The vendor identifies native BACnet Building Controller (B-BC) compatibility, Ethernet plus isolated RS485 serial integration, PanelBus, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, M-Bus and C-Bus data sharing, with an RJ11 HMI connection and modular dedicated I/O. Specific Ethernet port and I/O module combinations depend on hardware configuration.

Ordering, safety and commissioning caution: Do not confuse Advanced with Optimizer Essential, which has 28 onboard points, or assume that every RS485 protocol and Ethernet security profile is active without a firmware licence. Verify Niagara driver entitlements, power input and part-level approvals.
