X2200 — ultraviolet flame sensor with optical integrity testing
The industrial X2200 uses ultraviolet flame detection, not the combined UV/IR technology of X5200 or the multispectrum IR of X3301. UV detection depends on optical access to the flame and may be affected by obscuration or nuisance ultraviolet sources. A site assessment should match protected fuels and geometric coverage to the manufacturer’s test tables instead of assuming the same detection performance as a hydrocarbon-optimized IR system.
Det-Tronics includes automatic Optical Integrity self-checks in the X-Series family. Maintenance procedures should also verify the optical face, field of view, wiring, fault contact and controller alarm logic. Check the delivered X2200 order code, instrument approval, environmental rating and wiring/accessory instructions for classified-location work; no generalized family certification can replace the specific approval.
