Model-specific measurement and electrical figures, output options and their source limitations.
| Measured feature | Maker data | Practical engineering implications |
|---|---|---|
| Instrument class | Cabinet-integrated continuous emission monitoring multigas analyzer | Not a discrete 4-Series OEM gas sensor. |
| Oxygen principle | Paramagnetic O₂ measurement for percent-volume flue gas | O₂ concentration signal is not calibrated using NDIR hydrocarbon sensor factors. |
| Infrared systems | Single-beam dual-wavelength NDIR plus Gas-Filter Correlation NDIR | Separate optical analyzers handle configured CO₂/CO/SO₂/NO/CH₄/N₂O mixtures. |
| Gas family | Percent O₂/CO₂/CO; ppm SO₂, NO, CO, CH₄, N₂O, depending on configured channels | Not all eight gases are present in every supplied analyzer. |
| NOx interpretation | External NOx converter can determine NO/NO₂ contribution | NO₂ is not automatically measured without correct converter/plumbing option. |
| Data outputs | Analog/serial, Modbus over RS232/RS485, PROFIBUS and Modbus TCP/IP over Ethernet | Instrument I/O cards and protocol options need procurement verification. |
| Maintenance | Auto-calibration and diagnostics exported for predictive maintenance | Remote auto-zero/span still requires certified gases and plant acceptance. |
| Local operation | Touchscreen and USB data/software interface | Confirm cabinet environmental rating and process sample conditioning. |
System selection and verification
CEMS accuracy depends not just on optical analyzer selection but on gas sampling conditioning, moisture management, calibration gas traceability, response time, oxygen normalization and actual regional emissions rules. The Servomex 4900 offers combined sensing technologies; calling every configured gas NDIR is incorrect because oxygen is paramagnetic. For NOx, specify whether an external NO₂-to-NO converter exists, its efficiency and drift. Set up lost-sample flow, condensate, calibration overdue and Modbus communications as separate diagnostic alarms rather than interpreting every zero reading as clean emissions.
