PL4+ — four standard analog channels expand to eight
The Sensitron PL4+ compact gas control panel has four onboard 4–20 mA detector inputs with expansion to eight using the OEM module. The maker lists five built-in relays and up to 21 programmable remote-module outputs. Thus, ‘eight inputs’ is an expanded configuration, not the terminal count of every boxed panel. Each input must be assigned its gas type, measurement span and distinct alarms in the panel configuration.
Sensitron documents ATEX performance certification for PL4+ under EN 60079-29-1. This does not alone make the panel enclosure an Ex d device permitted anywhere in Zone 1. Prove sensor fault/overrange, AL1/AL2/AL3 and relay response during commissioning, and confirm the specific power supply, expansion module and target-gas range with the current manual.
