Engineering & selection notes

A thermostatic expansion valve must be selected by the actual refrigerant, evaporator capacity, pressure drop, intended superheat and balance/equalisation design. The LFTEV family contains multiple model codes for different refrigerants and internal versus external equalisation. A high-level family maximum is not a universal rating for every distributor or installation.

Applications & compatibility

Superheat-based evaporator feeding in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems; check the bulb mounting position, orifice, evaporating pressure and external equaliser connection.
