LFUD106 — open-channel flow needs weir/flume calibration
LFUD106 does not directly detect flow velocity inside a pipe. It measures ultrasonic water level above an open-channel weir or flume and computes discharge using the configured hydraulic geometry and flow equation. The maker’s broad listed flow envelope therefore cannot be applied without a correctly installed channel and known head-to-flow relationship. Keep the sensor outside its near-field dead zone; distinguish the IP68 probe from IP65 control housing and verify 4–20 mA/RS485 scaling.
