Heimann HCM / HIS / HID / HIM Thermopiles with ASIC

Heimann Sensor HCM ASIC thermopiles official product-family example
Heimann official HCM ASIC thermopiles image; illustrative member of the listed sensor family.

Thermopile measurement chips/modules with integrated analog or digital signal conditioning.

Original manufacturer: Heimann Sensor.

Technology distinction: An IR emitter, filter or thermopile sensing element alone is not a calibrated complete CO₂ or gas detector. No Ex-proof finished-equipment certification is implied.

Exact chip package, optical filter, field of view and temperature range require the manufacturer’s current part-number datasheet.

ASIC thermopile output compatibility

HCM/HIS/HID/HIM thermopile options integrate different types of signal-conditioning electronics. Confirm whether the selected model has analog or digital output, what its field of view and spectral filter are, and how temperature compensation is performed. A module suited to radiation temperature measurement will not produce a calibrated gas concentration without the corresponding optical measurement system. The HCM photo is a family example only.

ASIC-equipped Heimann thermopiles: HCM vs HIS vs HID vs HIM

Option / criterionOriginal maker technical detailDesign implication
HCM3.8×3.8 mm SMD single and 5×5 mm dual variants; 2.7–5 V; analogue gain 2150 or 4300Chip+filter+ASIC outputs a conditioned analog voltage, not calibrated gas concentration.
HISTO-39 single HIS Ax or dual HIS E222; analogue output, 2.7–5.5 V variants, 1 or 2 mAHIS Ax1 may require fixed 5 V: confirm exact variant, supply and optical filter.
HIDTO-39 digital thermopiles with SMBus or PWM output; A/L configurations, ~100 ms update; 3 V or 5 V variantsDigital output can represent measured IR signal or calculated temperature, not automatic CO₂ ppm.
HIMTO-46 miniature analogue ASIC; 3–5 V at ~1 mA; gain 2150/4300Miniature package and temperature reference output differ from TO-39 HIS and SMD HCM.
Temperature compensationAll ASIC families provide internal reference signal/function in maker descriptionsReference channel is not interchangeable with an external calibrated housing temperature instrument.

Selection, integration and qualification

Choose by exact analog/digital host interface, allowed rail, filter, optics, thermal reference, gain and field of view. A thermopile with ASIC is not a fully assembled process transmitter. A model photo for HCM does not depict the complete HIS/HID/HIM series.
