Tectra iX5 — wireless charging and connected workflow
The connected Tectra iX5’s multiple sensor channels and wireless charging alter fleet management, not the underlying need to calibrate each installed target gas. Confirm gas-channel inventory, offline local alarm operation, docking/charging location restrictions and information retention before field use. Remote dashboards and alerts should be tested for loss-of-network conditions. A portfolio listing alone does not prove a universal Ex rating for chargers, accessories or every regional sensor configuration.
Tectra iX5 — connected ecosystem and wearable monitoring
| Gas capacity | Up to five gas channels selected from LEL, O₂, H₂S, CO and other vendor-listed toxic gas options; gas sensors are specific to the delivered configuration. |
|---|---|
| Operating duration | Manufacturer launch information quotes a 20-hour runtime; actual sensor/messaging configuration influences usable runtime. |
| Connectivity | Peer-to-peer alerts and low-power site connectivity with Tectra Link, Tectra Dock and optional Tectra Anchors; hands-free data flows into iNet Insights when correctly provisioned. |
| Maintenance | Wireless charging, automated bump/calibration workflows and over-the-air firmware updates belong to the paired ecosystem, not a guarantee of automatic calibration without the dock. |
| Location services | Optional indoor/floor-aware site location with Tectra Anchors; approx. 3 m positioning is manufacturer-described under deployment conditions, not a guaranteed GPS accuracy. |
Integration and safety note: Hazardous-area approval and wireless accessory restrictions require an exact instrument certificate and permitted charger location. Don’t transfer Ventis Pro specifications to the Tectra model solely because both can sense up to five gases.
