Senseair Sunrise — ultra-low-power non-dispersive infrared sensor
Original Senseair documentation identifies concrete product codes and operating conditions. Accuracy, power, communications and calibration claims below are restricted to the specified variant.
| Engineering item | Manufacturer value | Design meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Official product order | 006-0-0008 NDIR CO₂ module | Confirm variant before comparing with Sunlight article 006-1-0100. |
| Published range/accuracy | 0–10,000 ppm; ±(30 ppm + 3% measured CO₂) | At 1,000 ppm published numeric expression implies about ±60ppm. |
| Energy architecture | 3.05–5.5 V; roughly 1–34 µA average depending on sample cadence; 125 mA measurement peak | Average microamp rating requires duty-cycled operation, not continuous 125mA draw. |
| Host interface | I²C or UART digital | Do not connect TTL/UART pins to 24V PLC or assume physical RS485. |
| Response/startup | 0-second declared warmup and ~30s gas response | Wake-up ability does not imply immediate equilibrium after a gas step. |
| Integration shape | 33.5 ×19.7 ×11.5 mm | Footprint and connector are not identical to Sunlight despite family relationship. |
| Calibration environment | Automatic baseline correction available; Dual Technology edition offered for continuously occupied spaces | Choose Dual Technology where periodic outdoor CO₂ exposure cannot be guaranteed. |
Application, firmware and calibration considerations
The Sunrise is optimized for battery-operated and intermittent-reading wireless IAQ nodes. The correct energy budget includes ~125mA peaks during NDIR emission plus the standby/sampling interval. Beware using automatic self-calibration in sealed, always-occupied rooms or CO₂-enriched mushroom farms. Senseair explicitly markets a Dual Technology variant to address some 24/7 occupied applications; confirm this is the supplied version rather than assuming its calibration logic exists in the base article number. The low-power device cannot independently satisfy a hazardous-atmosphere personal gas alarm.
