LFG101 — electrochemical carbon monoxide
LFG101 targets CO using electrochemical sensing rather than the infrared CO₂ principle of LFG201. Confirm actual CO span, interfering gases, cell-replacement schedule, calibration gas and fault signalling before connecting to a ventilation or garage controller. Location should represent the expected vehicle/combustion exhaust exposure without direct process heat damage. A BMS transmitter is not independently a certified residential CO alarm.
LFG101 — electrochemical CO signal and full-scale-based uncertainty — exact-model engineering review
LEFOO’s official model descriptions specify variant-dependent measuring range, compensation, protection and communication requirements. Listed options must not be assumed on every purchased unit.
| Parameter | OEM documentation | Design note |
|---|---|---|
| Target substance | Carbon monoxide measured by electrochemical gas element | Not CO₂ (infrared) and not an undifferentiated VOC sensor. |
| Span selection | 0–500 or 0–1,000 ppm CO variants | Choose span/ppm BAS tags by actual sensor part number. |
| Accuracy expression | ±5% full scale at 25 °C | On 1,000 ppm range, 5%FS means ±50 ppm, not ±5% of 20-ppm reading. |
| Response | t90 ≤15 seconds in OEM tests | Installed membrane/diffusion geometry and age can slow response. |
| Electrical output | 3-wire 4–20 mA, 0–5 V, 0–10 V or RS485 option | Model output selection sets wiring mode and PLC analog scaling. |
| Working voltage | 10–30 V DC except 16–30 V DC on 0–10 V version | Do not power all versions from 12 V and expect the 0–10 V output. |
| Operating environment | −10 to +50 °C, 15–90%RH; atmosphere 1 atm ±10% | An electrochemical element can drift with humidity, interference and exposure. |
| Enclosure and life | IP6x-class protection, manufacturer nominal service life >5 years | Service life depends on use; do not call product certified residential CO alarm. |
Application selection and commissioning
Different gases interfere with electrochemical CO sensors to differing degrees, so for car parks verify calibration gas, environmental conditions, location, airflow and tested ventilation alarm response. A manufacturer accuracy of ±5% full scale is a significant fixed error for low-parts-per-million CO; use appropriate tighter-range sensors when required. The CO transmitter is a BAS/process component, not automatically a compliant occupational/personnel or domestic CO alarm.
