T6615 Dual-Channel Selection Considerations

Optical and range choice: T6615 is listed as a dual-channel NDIR device with options up to 50,000 ppm. This higher-range measurement task differs substantially from low-concentration indoor-air monitoring; match the ordered scale to actual control or process needs.

Dual-channel is not a certificate: A second optical channel may be used in the module architecture, but the term does not establish a specific accuracy, maintenance interval or safety approval. Retrieve the exact Telaire variant’s uncertainty and environmental data before final system design.

Electrical checks: The page currently identifies only a digital output. Verify communication standard, pinout, power demand and command/response expectations directly from the T6615 documentation; do not assume equivalence with T6613.

Installation: Evaluate sampling arrangement, temperature, moisture, response time, calibration strategy and the behavior of the connected controls when the measurement is above range.

Telaire T6615 — dual-reference 50,000ppm OEM NDIR family — model evidence and engineering selection

Current original manufacturer information differentiates optical design, gas span, data interfaces, revision-specific power and calibration assumptions.

CharacteristicSource-backed detailSelection consequence
NDIR hardwareOne CO₂ channel and a separate optical reference channelDifferent from a single optical element corrected only by fresh-air ABC.
Available calibrated spansT6615 0–2,000ppm; T6615-5K 0–5,000; -10K 0–10,000; -50K 0–50,000The 50kppm rating belongs to a high-range order code, not every base T6615.
Flow-through optionsSuffix -F, -5KF, -10KF and -50KF denote flow-through arrangementsA tube port/pump arrangement is ordered hardware, not an option enabled by software.
Reference and calibrationDual optical channel plus three-point factory calibration processSource drift compensation differs from T6793’s single-channel ABC scheme.
OEM host integrationDigital signal to external control or measurement electronicsExact connector and output timing need the selected suffix datasheet.
Permanent occupationMaker positions the unit for buildings where ABC cannot be relied onIdealized ‘maintenance-free’ design statement does not eliminate installation check.
Actual applicationsIndoor growing, commercial IAQ and higher-CO₂ equipmentAt high percent concentrations, independent staff CO₂/O₂ safety and ventilation required.

Firmware, operating environment and calibration

The T6615 is distinctive for CO₂-rich horticulture and permanently occupied building applications where assuming routine return to ~400ppm background may be invalid. The dual-channel optical system measures a CO₂-specific/reference ratio and producer discusses a three-point calibration strategy. The buyer must still select a T6615, -5K, -10K or -50K suffix, and a flow-through revision if using a pumped gas stream. Comparing a T6615-50K directly against T6793-5K for absolute precision without the two actual datasheets is inappropriate. Existing maker material identifies separate calibration ports and revision-specific mechanical connectors.
