ZE08B-CH₂O — low-range formaldehyde
ZE08B-CH₂O has a low HCHO measuring range around 0–1.6 ppm and a UART interface. For indoor air-quality applications, gas selectivity, relative humidity and chemicals released by cleaning products can be as important as nominal resolution. Check the exact frame format, warm-up, baseline and service life in the latest model sheet. Do not substitute its 1.6 ppm full-scale for ZE08K’s broader 5 ppm family without matching output and accuracy conditions.

| Parameter | OEM documentation | Engineering interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Target and sensing | Electrochemical formaldehyde (HCHO / CH₂O) with temperature compensation | Not an equivalent-TVOC metal oxide index. |
| Specified detection band | 0–1.6 ppm | Do NOT copy ZE08K’s 0–5 ppm full scale. |
| Resolution | ≤0.01 ppm digital resolution | Display digits are not a guaranteed absolute sensor error. |
| Power | 3.7–5.5 V DC with reverse-polarity protection | Review MCU TTL voltage and supply ripple. |
| Output | UART, TTL logic around 3 V; official ZE08B model page lists UART output | Do not promise ZE08K analog DAC/PWM interfaces on ZE08B. |
| Startup and response | Preheat ≤3 min; T90 ≤60 s; recovery ≤60 s | BAS should suppress alarm during startup and check data-ready state. |
| Operating environment | 0–50 °C and 15–90%RH non-condensing | Unlike ZE08K, not rated −20 °C on official model page. |
| Expected life | 2 years in air under manufacturer conditions | Never reuse ZE08K’s five-year figure. |
Installation, electronics and calibration
ZE08B and ZE08K look similar but differ materially in range, electrical interface and operating temperature. When integrating ZE08B into an indoor air-quality monitor, ensure correct UART parsing and scaling for 0–1.6 ppm, allow startup, and handle serial fault states. Alcohol and CO can cause cross-interference despite electrochemical selectivity; choose calibration with known formaldehyde gas standards and maintain a sensor replacement schedule. Do not call any OEM module an approved finished occupational safety monitor without testing the complete system.
