CIT 700/750 — data acquisition rather than gas sensing

CIT 700 and 750 are process indicators/loggers and should be specified by input-channel type, isolation, acquisition speed and communications rather than a pressure range of their own. Confirm whether the chosen display supports the installed transmitters’ 4–20 mA, voltage or Modbus channels and the expected timestamp/record retention. Alarm processing and log export are configuration-dependent. These devices are not pressure/gas sensors or independent hazardous-area-approved safety systems simply because they display process values.

Model-specific measurement and electrical figures, output options and their source limitations.

Measured feature Maker data Practical engineering implications
Primary class Programmable multichannel process display/logger and controller Displays connected transmitter signals; does not itself sense gas or pressure.
Screen contrast CIT 700 3.5-inch TFT in 96×96mm front; CIT 750 5.7-inch TFT in 144×144mm front These are two physically different panel-cutout sizes.
Acquisition Up to 60 logged channels, max 10 Hz sampling; additional calculated/IO channels up to 90 A 90 logical-channel ability is not 90 analogue terminals on a base device.
Internal storage 1.5 GB internal memory Retention length depends on recording channel count and frequency.
Hardware expansion Three configurable input/output slots and modular I/O selection The exact analog current/RTD/pulse contacts depend on inserted modules.
Logic/control 35 mathematical/logic functions and eight PID controllers with autotuning A process PID is not automatically a certified fire/gas safety shutdown device.
Physical ports RS485 Modbus RTU, RS232, USB host, Ethernet Modbus TCP by configuration Connectivity options require installed interface modules/firmware.
Auxiliary field power 24 V DC transducer power output Calculate connected pressure transmitter load before relying on internal supply.
Ingress IP65 front panel on appropriately sealed cut-out; rear housing/connectors IP20 Do not call a panel-mounted whole device IP65 inside wet cabinet.
Environment 0–50 °C standard with optional extended ambient version Confirm actual SKU, panel venting and condensation management.

System selection and verification

The same operator display family covers data acquisition and logic, but the CIT 700 and CIT 750 have materially different panel dimensions. The original BD|SENSORS product sheet lists up to 60 logged channels and 10Hz logging, whereas up to 90 I/O/logic channels are virtual/configuration architecture and not 90 built-in physical connections. In a pressure-monitoring panel, select actual input modules, overrange/fault and sensor excitation, then separate process control PID from independently approved protection functions. The front enclosure has IP65 only under the specified sealing arrangement; rear terminals are IP20.
