DMD 341 — silicon cell and low differential spans

DMD 341’s listed 6–1,000 mbar options and version-dependent 0.35%, 1% or 2% FSO accuracy must not be merged into one universal performance specification. A silicon sensing element requires the specified port/process media compatibility; do not automatically treat it as a wet/wet industrial transmitter like DMD 331. For filter monitoring or fluid differential, check common-mode pressure, tubing and the desired analog output at the selected low span.

Original BD|SENSORS catalogue differentiates calibrated pressure ranges, media and approval tiers. A family range and optional certification must not be confused with the ordered device.

Application engineering and commissioning

DMD 341 makes sense for gas-only differential ranges such as fan airflow/clean compressed gas pressure, but a 2%FSO device at 1000 mbar can have ±20 mbar full-scale-class uncertainty; for a 6 mbar process pressure drop that is unacceptable. Choose the right calibrated pressure cell instead of relying on software scaling. Check response, media cleanliness, common-mode pressure, zero-offset after mounting, correct tubing polarity and thermal gradients. Manufacturer’s aluminium case does not make the instrument suitable for open washdown or corrosive liquids.
