EF-x1000-T — integral small round-duct transmitter
EBTRON’s EF-x1000-T is aimed at approximately 4–16 inch circular ducts with an integral probe/transmitter arrangement. Correct duct diameter, insertion depth and upstream/downstream disturbances matter more than choosing a generic sensor based solely on maximum airspeed. Confirm whether the ordered electronics provide analog or RS485 data, and verify host scaling and duct airflow-calculation assumptions. It is not a direct mechanical substitute for a multipoint HTx116-P array or remote-display x2000.
EF-x1000-T — integral 4–16 in round-duct airflow sensing
The details below are specific model or order-family properties taken from the original equipment maker. For each installed unit, suffix, test conditions and revised documentation govern.
| Attribute | Manufacturer data | Engineering significance |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Calibrated thermistor thermal-dispersion with single insertion probe | Direct velocity/flow sensing unlike static differential pressure. |
| Round duct size | 4–16 in (102–406 mm) standard configurations | Probe size and 1/2 sensor-node arrangement depend on diameter. |
| Range and accuracy | Manufacturer lists 0–3,000 FPM, ±3% of reading installed accuracy when installation criteria are met | The stated installed performance already includes sampling uncertainties under prescribed placement. |
| Calibration | Seven-point, NIST-traceable airflow calibration described by OEM | A traceable calibration process is not a substitute for duct installation acceptance. |
| Interfaces | Analog or RS485 by selected x1000 variant; BACnet/Modbus are limited to EF-N1000-T | Do not assert Ethernet/IP or a universal combined analog/network interface. |
| Probe temperature capability | Temperature output models available; probe and transmitter have different ambient classes | Check return/outdoor air range rather than assuming rated industrial exhaust service. |
| Configuration | Integral transmitter at insertion probe | Accessible placement differs from remote x2000 transmitter. |
Engineering selection and installation
The x1000-T is intended for small round ducts and air terminals, with a thermistor node architecture that scales by probe size. EBTRON’s maker documentation stresses proper insertion and location relative to duct disturbances. Duct area, airflow unit (CFM versus SCFM), actual atmospheric/standard density assumptions and local BAS trend scaling should be recorded. In a 4-inch duct a single node arrangement differs from a 16-inch two-node probe, and the stated ±3% installed figure depends on representative flow and manufacturer’s placement guidance. Do not claim AMCA certification where EBTRON’s own performance method differs.
