Vaisala PDT101 — exact range, loop loading and cleanroom selection
Based on Vaisala’s official B211082EN-K (2026) model datasheet, this section distinguishes bidirectional cleanroom pressure transmitters from the unidirectional fan/filter models and the actual analog output configuration.
| Attribute | Original manufacturer data | Engineering note |
|---|---|---|
| Available pressure ranges | ±60 Pa / ±125 Pa (bidirectional), 0–500 Pa (unidirectional); inch-of-water equivalents | Choose model by expected pressure sign and span, not only adjustable zero. |
| Published accuracy | 0.4% of full span for bidirectional; 1% of full span for unidirectional | At very low differential pressure, %span is not %reading. |
| Response / stability | 250 ms t10–90; 15-second warm-up; ±0.25% of span/year stability | Set commissioning zero tolerance and inspection interval. |
| Current output | Two-wire 4–20 mA; 12–36 V DC supply | Maximum receiver/loop resistance is (supply voltage minus 12 V)/0.022 A. |
| Voltage output | 0–5 V version: 11.5–36 V DC or 24 V AC; 0–10 V: 14–36 V DC or 24 V AC | Separate three-wire voltage output ordering codes from the two-wire current loop. |
| Connection | 1/4-inch barbed pressure ports; wall or DIN-rail mounting; detachable terminals | Prevent kinked tubes, leakage, condensation and accidental reversed HI/LO reference. |
| Ambient / protection | −18 to +70 °C; IP40; dry, non-corrosive and non-conducting gas only | Not weatherproof, washdown-ready or Ex-approved just because it measures pressure. |
| Adjustments | Front-access zero ±5% span and span ±3% span | Re-verify calibration after mounting or tubing changes. |
Ordering and calibration boundaries
PDT101-P4C is ±60 Pa / 4–20 mA; P4V is ±60 Pa / 0–5 V; P10C is 0–500 Pa / 4–20 mA; P10V is 0–500 Pa / 0–10 V. These are distinct physical orderable versions. The manufacturer’s P10Cx, P10Vx, W10Cx, and W10Vx codes are explicitly listed as not including a calibration certificate. Do not describe every PDT101 as shipped with an individual calibration report.
For a cleanroom differential-pressure cascade, document each room’s reference pressure, alarm direction, tubing route and measured zero at installation. A proof-pressure tolerance of 1 bar means survival of overload, not a calibrated pressure range. Validate loop resistance when connecting a 4–20 mA input through an isolation barrier; pressure readings below nominal detection levels cannot be certified from a generic product catalog alone.
