Technical Selection Considerations
AHU families can include multiple ordering codes, airflow sizes and configurations. Select fan operating points against external static pressure, appropriate filters based on project air quality requirements, heat recovery type, coil capacity, condensate and hygiene requirements, access zones and control-system compatibility. Do not assume all advertised options are included in one delivered unit.

D-AHU Compact L — restricted ceiling void
Compact L is positioned for low-height or ceiling-space restrictions, where unit depth/height, service access and duct connection positions are especially critical. Select fans against duct static loss and allow dirty-filter margin within the low-profile package. Condensate drainage and lifting/installation orientation should be checked before specifying a suspended unit. The compact footprint does not mean every filter class, coil, heat-recovery component and automation option is included.
Daikin Compact L — low-height counterflow AHU
Daikin’s 2026 AHU catalogue lists six preconfigured Compact L sizes, 150–4,000 m³/h airflow family coverage, high-efficiency aluminium counterflow plate heat recovery, EC fans and Pro or Smart control configurations. It is designed for false-ceiling/low-height installations; the smallest model can start at about 280 mm high, not all sizes.
Select exact ALB size, handedness, ceiling clearances, static-pressure/dirty-filter duty and condensate drainage. Compact R uses a rotary wheel and is not interchangeable with the plate-exchanger Compact L.
